New Abilities

Well on the 10 December I went to see Runrig play their last night of their winter tour at the Barrowlands in Glasgow.

What an amazing 36 hours it turned out to be.

Got to Glasgow at 2pm on Saturday and Fiery Earth Wolf was there waiting for me...already in his kilt. He took me up to my hotel and then we went to his hostel.

Then it was to the Counting House for the meet, and it was the Mother of all Meets...amazing to see everyone turn up the pub....so many old faces and new faces........great to meet you all again and for the first time.

After about 3/4 hours in the pub it was to the concert........the place was heaving already.......it seems like most of us stayed in the same area for the whole gig.

I didn't like the first support, but AA were awesome...like a young Peatbog Faeries.

What about Runrig.....well when the lights went out there was an almight roar as if your footie team had just scored the winning goal in the world cup final...........and there was Malcolm playing Solus...what a start.
Then it was into Proterra.....the atomosphere was already electric, I've never seen anything like it. The Wedding was fantastic....hope that stays in the set for sometime to come.
A Reiteach was just amazing....Rory what a voice.....i love this song...then it was the drummers.......
Life is was great as was The Old Boys......and the closing Hearts of Olden Glory was fantastic....all us Riggies singing our hearts out shoulder to shoulder.

This Time of Year was great, well done Brian.......The Stamping Ground was storming......everyone was trying to leap higher than Jacqui....
Loch lomond was great....and then into the last Book of Golden Stories.....moving so bloody moving that song.........then the lights went on and it was over.

It was also good after the gig to bump into June and Annika again....

Outside after the gig I met up with Pedro and Only the Meek from Spain, good to meet you.....have a safe trip home.

Hope Pippin gets home safe and sound.

It was the best gig I have every been to.......thx to Runrig and all you great Riggie friends out there.

Was great to come back on the train with Spud and his mate, and also Jacqui...your a star, was great to meet you and look forward to seeing your and my pictures again.
